This Sunday, August 26th is Women’s Equality Day. It’s a celebration of the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920 which gave women the right to vote.
68 years later, and just 30 years ago, Congress passed H.R. 5050 – The Women’s Business Ownership Act which enabled female entrepreneurship and curtailed discriminatory lending practices, including the requirement that female entrepreneurs get a man to co-sign their loan.
We’ve come a long way, but there is much work to do.
Today, women still only get a fraction of all U.S. small business loans–with only $1 of every $23 going to female entrepreneurs.
As a female-founded company, the hard work of those who came before us is the wind at our back and its why we’re pushing so hard to close the lending gap in this country.
To take another step forward.
We’re doing this together, men and women, all of us, to build a brighter, more inclusive future.
Thank you for supporting that mission.
